Four Years of Us
Honestly, four years is not that long. But somehow, it feels like we've lived through ten years' worth of stories.
We went through a loooot. And I really mean a lot. So much patience. So many apologies. So much forgiveness. Then somehow, we repeat the cycle all over again. Romantic moments, silly fights, struggles, misunderstandings, making up... and then back to loving each other. Sometimes I think we're just living in our own drama series that keeps getting renewed every year.
And somehow, we're still here.
This anniversary, my husband understood the assignment.
He's always bought me flowers, but this time he did something he'd never done before. He surprised me by sending roses to my workplace. I wasn't expecting it at all, and seeing everyone asking, "Who sent you these?" made me smile.
But honestly, it wasn't even about the roses.
It was the thought behind them. The effort. The fact that in the middle of our workday, he wanted to make me feel special.
And as if that wasn't enough, he also gifted me the coffee machine I'd been wanting for so long. If you know me, you know how much I love my coffee. I had been talking about getting one for ages, so knowing he remembered made the gift even more meaningful.
Marriage isn't always butterflies and grand romantic moments. At least ours isn't.
It's choosing each other after disagreements. It's learning to be patient when it's hard. It's apologising even when your ego tells you not to. It's forgiving, over and over again. It's growing together, even when the journey is messy.
So here's to four years of our own little drama series.
May there always be romance after the arguments, laughter after the tears, and enough love to keep renewing this series for many more seasons.
And I wouldn't want this series to end anytime soon.
